Description
This tests synchronization on Swiss time between your test system and external system that serves as an NTP server.
Instructions
To run this test, follow these steps:
- Configure your system to synchronize time with a public NTP server on the Swiss time.
- Use a web browser to find a web server that will display the current Swiss time.
- Execute a “clock” program on your host system that shows the time on your system.
- On a Windows system, this can be done by selecting the “time” in the lower right tray.
- On a Unix system: xclock –digital –update 1
- Perform a screen capture that shows both the web browser display and your system clock. These should show the same time.
- Name the screen capture <system>_CT_Time_Synchro_NTP.<ext> where
- system is the name of your system as found in the registration tools
- ext is the proper file extension (jpg, png etc.)
- Upload this screen capture into Gazelle as the test results file.
- Mark the test "to be verified". Be ready to show in live the synchronization to a monitor.
Evaluation
- Correct time synchronization on the screen capture.
- The monitor observes your synchronization. It must have less than one second delay.
